... or a Patek 5140 J, such a wonderful watch. You don't even have to be slightly rich to afford one of those though.
Now Paul. You KNOW you would be wearing one of these!

That is a sweet watch.
It's also the one for the "investment" thread.

I'm just not in that category and never will be, so I couldn't even begin to imagine what I might fancy if I had such wealth.

I do like the Masterpiece, but without all the stones.

The few ultra rich I've come to know a little (old money, not the new) are often incredibly modest in their personal presentation. They prefer to start botanical gardens in a city, or build hospitals and fund causes, and travel. One such woman wears a small gold Ebel watch she's had forever. It looks fine to her. I shouldn't second guess that.

Interesting one.

"Toys" - hey? I only see one watch (ie. One "toy")

Wouldn't seeing some wrist pix of that piece.

If that is the watch for the Ultra Rich... I'm wondering what Filthy Rich people would wear?!? (same watch, but in a much bigger size? )

PP 5002 for $1.5m. Honestly if I was so rich everything was obtainable I would own a few Rolexs like a WG SubC, all gold GMT with the green face and a few of the SS models but I would go elsewhere and get some grand complications. The Rolex mvt is A workhorse. Not very sophisticated if you ask me.

Ladies and gentlemen, such pieces aren't for super rich, they're for super smart: as more dollars are printed, the more sense it makes to acquire!!!

I would just have 2 people, instead of 4. I would do the same thing, except I would women instead of men following me around, preferably Jessica Alba and Jessica Biel.
