Watch Pictures

I see so many great pictures on this site, any suggestions for someone that has hardly taken a picture before. I mean, Thanksgiving and Christmas sure, but nothing with the zoom, clarity and detail I see here.

First, can it even be done with a simple digital camera that cost $150 ?

Any suggestions would be appreciated, I want to make my own screen saver, lol....

It's not the equipment, it's the photographer.

A camera w/ macro capabilities for close up shots, natural abundant lighting, checking angles for glare, and a tripod will go a long way.

Well, I don't have an I-phone and I was kind surprised picturs of high quality could be taken with one

I stopped by Best Buy at lunch and the camera guy said lighting and a tripod were the two most critcal items to get the pictures I was interested in taking.

Well, more stimulation for the economy. I guess I'll be buying a camera and tripod this weekend to find my inner Ansel Adams. I think I'll shoot some in black and white too-

I would agree. And having bought the camera, the macro lens, the extension tubes, the lighting, the screens to avoid unwanted natural light, I still find myself with a tripod needing an upgrade!!! You really need a good quality tripod to get those close-ups!

There's always something else ........ And that's before you spend hours trying to get that perfect shot. A game for those with extreme patience only

Although an iPhone will give you exactly what you see so pretty good for snaps.

You would be surprised of the quality of pics taken with a iPhone and a steady hand and the right lighting

A new Canon Powershot / elph has good Macro mode, within your price range

Really ?? An I-phone? I'm not in anyway tech driven. I just started "texting" 30 days ago, lol...

I'm impressed, I see some great shots on here. I especially like water droplet shots across the face
