Refusing to give the other team it's due is just a form of whining.

Doesn't matter if a team scores more runs or has more hits. What matters is scoring more runs in three of the five games. Detroit did that, New York did not.

Guess the Yanks shouldn't have spotted the Tigers 2 "hits" in the first inning.

Stats don't win games, big plays win games.

Hey, I'm not big on pissing contests, but I gots a big bladder.

I guess you didn't understand the logic behind my post...it was to state the fact the Tigers didn't necessarily "beat" the Yankees, it was that the Yankees lost the series on their own merit...they did not come through when needed..

Tigers won..I know that, but not always does the best team always win...note Phillies and Cards series..

I don't think the Yankees were the better team. At least they weren't in three of the five games. Sure, they padded their stats with a couple big innings in the games they won, but that does not make them the better team.

On paper, you could probably make an argument that they were the better team. The only problem with that argument is that they don't play on paper. Going in, I thought they were pretty evenly matched and the series could go either way.

A bunch of individuals with accolades don't make a better team. Its about doing what it takes to win, ie.. moving runners, situational hitting, etc...the yankees didn't do those things. In my opinion, this year the tigers were a more complete team.

In any case GO RANGERS!

I follow sport but not baseball, so don't really know what members are saying, here's what I will say though, the record books next year will say "team A beat team B" full stop, they won't say "Team A won but team B had the better side and should really have won".
