Rolex Replica

Hello,

I have found that passing the mouse over the text in the top of the forum, you can see this:

Rolex Forum|Rolex Replica|Rolex Forum|Rolex|Rolex Forum|Rolex Replica|Rolex Forum|Rolex|Rolex Forum|Rolex Replica|Rolex Forum|Rolex

Does the hidden Rolex Replica is intended? Looks weird

He's right. It's there.

An easy way to see it is to double click on any of the spaces

The word 'replica' is invisible. Just like this "replica"
However, the word 'replica' can be seen if you highlight the text.
The forum benefits from search engine optimisation.
The worlds most popular search phrase associated with the word 'rolex' is 'rolex replica'.
I would be the first to stand for the proposition that this forum should in no way endorse 'replicas' of watches. However, the term 'replica' is designated by search engines to rank sites above this site because they market 'replica' watches.
The word 'replica' has been deployed (invisibly) on this web-site to ensure that this forum ranks higher than replica watch related sites on a search engine search for 'rolex'.
The policy of the forum has not changed and it will never be that replica watches are endorsed here.
The aim is purely to achieve a higher search engine ranking for this forum than imitation or fake watch sites currently enjoy.
If anything more is read into it then that is wrong : and is ill informed.
Now if and when you see a post or thread advertising or promoting 'replicas' that will be an entirely different matter and such post or thread will be removed.
If you do a Google search for 'rolex' would you prefer to see this forum No.2 right behind Rolex or No.53 behind all the replica sites. If having invisibly the word 'replica' in the header and footer gets us to No.2 in front of all the replica sites, I think that is actually a strike against the proliferation of imitation or fake Rolex watches on the internet.
Fake or imitation Rolex websites deploy huge sums of money and strategy in getting high search engine rankings. We have to deploy some effective strategy to combat that, otherwise we surrender to replica website superiority.
I know which side of the fence I'm on.
Search engine optimization is a very technical area. Understand what that is about before you judge.

That's a great reason. I don't think anyone was implying anything sinister. Just looking for why, which we now have. Pretty sneaky, sis.

There are several ways to 'not' show these words on the website and still get in the search engine lists.
But this works as well and a lot easier.

Well, do tell?
The words are in fact only one word i.e 'replica' and the word isn't shown you wouldn't even know it's there unless you click and run your mouse over it, which I can't understand why some would do that anyway.

Some people will click on anything, Steve, just to see if there's anything hidden underneath. (I've been known to do that myself on occasion - out of pure curiosity.) Never know what you might find.

I thought that it would be good to initiate a number of measures to make this forum prosper.

The use of the word 'replica' was intended to be invisible.
I don't think people ordinarily go to a web-site and click their mouse over and highlight a heading, that's just not done.

I've spent many long hours researching, testing and implementing many, many new strategies trying to promote this site to make it more well known on the internet.

All those strategies, changes and mods will now be rolled back. All SEO efforts and expenditures will be suspended.

We have lost the war against 'rolex replicas'. I did my best.
The word 'replica' is like a weapon, in the wrong hands it can be used for wrong, in the right hand it can be used for good. Unfortunately, I can't stop people on this forum thinking that the use of the word 'replica' to fight against criminal activity is a bad idea.

Just as an example, a guy (lets call him Ted) knows very little about Rolex, he's interested in getting one of those Rolex sports watches, so he thinks to himself to turn to the internet.
Ted goes to Google and does a search for "Rolex".

The first page of search results from Google have 5 sites offering 'rolex replicas'. Ted thinks that's a great deal, and buys a rolex replica online. He doesn't see this forum because we are back on page 8 of the Google search in position 53 and follow all the Rolex replica websites.

An alternative scenario might reasonably be we use the invisible 'replica' word and our Google ranking is not position 53 but position 2 right behind the "Rolex" website on page 1 of the search results. Ted sees our site as entry No. 2 on page one of the Google search results. He comes here and learns the whys and wherefores of Rolex Replicas. He decides he doesn't want to be a part of that illegal activity and buys a genuine Rolex.

By using the word 'replica' we are doing good, it's like a weapon being used for good instead of bad.
There is no hidden agenda here, I just don't like rolex replicas, and I initiated a measure to combat that, but it seems to me some feel we should just let illegal rolex replica watch organizations flourish and prosper.

I had of note made the word 'replica' invisible just like this so no one would have seen it only the search engine robots. (you need to click your mouse and highlight it)

Anyway, as a result of member disapproval the invisible word 'replica' will be removed from the forum heading. Next time someone buys a replica Rolex I can say I might have prevented that

I assume you got some PM's voicing disapproval, because I can't see anyone who's posted in this thread saying anything other than "good idea".

Anyway, it's your sandbox. We're just happy you let us in to get dirty.

Ok Then!!!

I and all other members have read steve's explaination and IMHO a logical and common sense approach, I would also like to hear the othersides opinions, obviously we do not know who they are as they have choosen to remain concealed, which i don't understand if there opinions are that strong!! there's no debate as steve's descisions are for him to make and final, but would be interested and have respect! for any "Stand Up Guys" to voice there opinions

Is the drop in our european top100 rating from 5 yesterday to 80 today a reflection or has a connection?

I have also noticed that before this revelation, the US stock market was above 14,000. It has toppled considerably since this has come out.

coincidence....I don't think so......

As of right now, 21 Aug. @ 11:45 AM (EDT), our rating in that market is No. 3.

Are we tracking the Dow Jones?
