Most women are very, very complicated. If I see Anne’s face with a thundercloud on it and ask: what’s the matter?, it begins. What should be the matter, nothing’s the matter. (At this time I wish I hadn’t asked that question in the first place. I still haven’t got the hang of it after more than 22 years. I’ve read ‘Men are from Mars and women are from Venus’ a zillion times but I still don’t get it). Well, just tell me, I ask then. Silence. I will try again after some time but this will make things worse. Later on the evening it all comes out.

If we guys have something on our liver, we shout a couple of times and then forget about it. With women, oh, oh, oh. Never, ever is something the matter but we get looks that could kill, the silent treatment and still we love them! Numbskulls and cavemen we are.

Don't ask anymore. If Anne doesn't tell you when you ask, haven't you learned yet?

Well, that's the point: I don't have ESP, so how can I tell?

Can't you tell by the look on her face? If I ask Kelly what's the matter and she replies with "Nothing", then I don't say anything else about it. I wait for her to blabber on about it. Then I'll listen in full force...most of the time.

Ah, the classic, "Nothing". I just shrug my shoulders and say, "OK, I'm a psychologist, not a mind reader".
