Help with my first Rolex purchase

Hi All,

i am new to this forum and new to the world of Rolex. i have always wanted a Rolex without knowing to much about them, but i have now decided to buy a pre loved Rolex.

I am a little hesitant and scared as their is so many stories out their of fakes or original watches with un original parts and so on.

I would really appreciate some guidence.

I am after a Rolex Datejust 2 tone gold and stainless with gold (or champaigne face).

Also some recommendations on where to buy it from would also be helpful, i am from Sydney Australia and would prefer to buy one from the country rather then OS (not much of an internet shopper).

many thanks

Welcome!

No worries.....Contact one of the many trusted sellers here to find your DJ. Then, enjoy it on your wrist in a few days time.

Good luck & Happy Hunting!

Good luck wiht your hunt.

I too was initially interested in that EXACT same Rolex; however, after living here on TRF for a while, I COMPLETELY changed my mind.

I'd say for advice, stick around a bit, there's no rush.

That particular exact model is one of the most copied out there. TT DJ stick champagne dial...it's nice, but it seems to grab the attention of first time buyers a lot.

Welcome to TRF.

Go to your local Rolex AD and take a look.

Take your time, log in here everyday, learn as much as you can. Try lots on at AD's.

When your ready either buy from the trusted sellers here or at an AD. Try to avoid ebay.

Good luck. Welcome.

Welcome. You can be very patient with this purchase. Rolex has been making this DJ for at least 40 years and probably 50. There are lots of these available from brand new to very worn and lots of prices to go with the condition/age. If you'll look at the current 36mm DJ's on jubilees, you can get a good feel for what you're after. Then maybe let your budget limits provide a bit more guidance.

Reading some of the current and older posts on this forum can make you pretty knowledgeable about your options.

Looking to buy my first Rolex too and have to say that without the internet it would be a lot more difficult. Good info out there now and I hope that with some more digging, I'll be comfortable enough to make the purchase knowing that I have examined all options of watch and seller. Main advice I would give from other things I've bought over the years is to take your time!!
