I didn't expect that to happen.....

Had a day off today, and went shopping with the better half. We popped in to my local AD, primarily to buy a new strap for one of my watches.

I had been considering buying the wife a Rolex, but decided I would prefer she knew and could choose it. So, when she said "do you fancy spending some money?" I told her and asked her which models she liked.

Guess which one she wanted?

Any ideas?

None!

Yes, she didn't want one! Said she wouldn't wear it and didn't she a reason to spend that much on a watch!

Oh well - bet that doesn't happen often.

Bought her a nice bracelet instead, and left the jewelers with a heavier wallet than expected (which is always nice)...

You won two ways, she is happy and like you said you have a heavier wallet. A win-win situation all around!

My wife would rather have a nice ring, but at a push she would wear a Rolex. She dosn't wear a watch anyway so a nice watch is really wasted on her.

BTW, the AD did say he expected (and had heard rumors) that prices would increase very soon....

I know my girlfriend would refuse a Rolex anytime, she's not a watch nut. Maybe they're related?

Hope she wears the bracelet often!

In that case, you should have bought her a new Daytona SS. She wouldn't wear it, leaving you no choice but to wear it yourself ... even a bigger win!

Nice!

That leaves more room to get yourself a new watch now.
