What apps do you use and love? I have a few.

I collect wine, and if I'm stumped on an esoteric label, i can snap a picture of it and let Google Goggles look it up for me. Like wise I keep my wine inventory on "Inventory Droid" it allows me to store and scan UPC codes and pictures of each wine along with tasting notes. Programs for PC, or wine databases with bar code scanners can run a couple of hundred bucks, two great apps for me. Wondering what you've all found and use?

Also my wife's Siri App on her iPhone s is killer, the voice transcription of texts alone is worth the price of admission?

iCam by SKJM. Cheap ($5 I think?). From iPhone or iPad, I can instantly view all of my security cameras and view recordings of those cameras. Each camera is a cheap Linksys or similar 802.11n wireless camera. I can set notification thresholds, and the app notifies me of activity on selected cameras. Everything is stored and rolled automagically to Dropbox.

Love it. No more driving back home to see if I remembered to close the garage door! Easily my favorite (non-included with phone) app.

I use;

1 Password, great for remembering all logins etc, can sinc between all my devices.

Has a basic code for access and then for certain items a more sophisticated code is needed.



WD 2go Pro, allows me access and the ability to download music to my phone from my WD My book NAS at my home.





The Sonos app allows me to control my multi room sonos system from my phone or iPad, works very well.

Does the camera need to be linked to a computer?

I'm interested in this to monitor my houses. Can you recommend a specific camera?

The cameras are independent, but you'll need to go to Skjm's website to read about how icam works. I have three of these cameras and love 'em:

Jog Log for my iPhone. Uses GPS to track your run and gives various alerts such as distance, pace, etc... Also allow manual entry of a run in case you are using a treadmill.

Oooh I forgot this one, Google Translate. I have a friend whose a linguist and speaks 5 languages. When I want to swear at him in one of OTHER tongues, I can use this quite efficiently!!
