He turned down the opportunity to be in Casino Royale in order to film Children of Men. So he closed the door on becoming the new Bond in 2006 and Daniel Craig isn't giving it up, yet. Frankly I think Craig saved the franchise while Owen turned his back on it. I'd probably not be too excited about a CO Bond just based how well DC has done in his two movies so far.

I agree. Clive Owen is a great actor, and I loved Children of Men and his other movies, but to me he is too much of a Pierce Brosnan, and would have bored audiences to sleep and continued the downward spiral of the franchise.

Daniel Craig saved it. Brosnan was killing it - with the exception of his early ones like GoldenEye and maybe Tomorrow Never Dies, the other movies were so bad :( Doesn't mean I wouldn't want to see Clive Owen as Bond - that would be really interesting!

Connery is too old and hairy where hair ain't supposed to be and balding where hair is supposed to be.

Craig is too beefcake.

Dalton is too... um... small of a sample size to have any statistical significance in a scientific experiment?
