For $20K, I would choose a Rolex Submariner, and a gold dress watch from Jaeger-LeCoultre or Glashutte Original. None of your Rolex suggestions would be appropriate with a Tux.

In Australia I mix in Professional circles in the property fund management and investment space. I very seldom see gold DD's. Mostly subs, GMT's and Daytona's. Personally not a fan of yellow gold. Would consider rose gold though

DJ on a Jubilee for dress, business and daring desk duty.
Explorer II Black for more rugged physical activity. But if you opened it up to any brand, you could spend less than $5K and do these: Zenith Port Royal V and Ball Diver Worldtime And bank the other $15K or invest for your future

I agree that you picked the correct two in the beginning. The subc LV and the daytona are the two I would go with

Why not save some money and just get one: GMT IIc. It covers all.

I would personally go with a DJII fluted bezel model and a SubC. I don't ever have a need to have my watch tell me two time zones as if I ever travel I set my watch to that time and when I come home set it back. Now the timing bezel I do use on a daily basis.
I think the DJII with a white stick dial and the SubC are the perfect two watch combo.

The dd is sick but I still think a SS sub or Daytona looks way better for everyday. That is unless your a lawyer, banker or in car sales.

Honestly, I don't even think you need 2, I can't think of any situation where a GMT IIc wouldn't be appropriate. It's a magnificently versatile watch. If you needed something dressier, then something from the Cellini range would suit - I'm a fan of the Danaos in rose and white gold, looks very sharp

16610 and a 16520. I prefer the older case sized Sub and the Zenith Daytona.
