Which Samsung TV ???

Nice and simple which one out of these 2 ?

Samsung Plasma 59"

I like the experience on a Plasma more. So I would take the plasma. But it does use more electricity.

I don't like Samsung products so I would say none... get a different brand.
That's just me though. Samsung and Sony are two brands I refuse to own.

Bit of back ground up until today I had a UE46D7000 so the 46" model of the above.

It's been returned due to torch effect from the LED back lights and a crashing issue. Now these are not huge issues but as the LED pricing has came down since my purchase I can pretty much get the 55" LED for the price I paid for the 46".

So their customers service advisors said he'd refund full original purchase to save me the difference what I thought was a nice touch rather then just exchange.

Want to stay Samsung as the 7.1, TC remote and 3D glasses are already Samsung.

I sit 2.5 metres away so 55" is ideal but I'm sure I could cope with the 59" just toying between LED and Plasma !!!!

Agreed on Sony... Their best days were those Trinitron days..... Still have one of their vintage 26" flat screens

I'd go for the plasma. I've seen that one in person and it's really nice.

Id say that he'd say because there are better choices. Like panasonics top end plasma series.

There is something about Samsung that just screams cheap and flimsy to me. Their smartphones are the same way... they might have impressive figures but they are appalling to look at and they feel like they are from the dollar store. Everything about the fit, finish, build and interface screams CHEAP. And I just cannot deal with it.

It's kinda like a Hyundai or a Kia. While on paper everything looks comparable to other makers or even better in some cases, you just know, see and feel that everything is just a little bit cheaper.

But that's just my take.

I for one stick to Panasonic or Mitsubishi TVs.

I'd only go plasma if going for 50"+... Panasonic would be on top of the list

Out of those, I like the 55D7000 LCD.

I've been less than happy with image retention issues with my newer (2011) Samsung 3D plasma, so I'd likely go with the 7000 series. I recently saw one at my local BB and was really happy with it.

That being said, keep in mind visual acuity and its role in the size of your set vs. the distance at which you sit.

What is your room like?

For me Plasma > LED in a dark room. Glare from Plasma can be bad (windows, doors, overhead lights, etc).

If you have a darker room, plasma basically.

Ahh.... Gotcha.
So it has nothing to do with the actual quality issue or use-abilities of their TVs..

I don't think I'd want to buy a TV from a company that is known for making cars..... But that's just my take

They know a lot more about TVs I think than they know about making cars.

I am a Panasonic guy when it comes to TVs.
Got two of them now and the one in the living room still works great and it is from 2004!

LED with the full matrix backlight is better than almost any plasma except the panasonic very top end. I like LED because they are super thin now, don't produce a lot of heat and don't ever need a screen clearing to prevent burn in. I used to own a plasma until the newer LEDs came out then I switched.
