I'm not sure about the US, but in the Middle east prices started declining.

It has to do with the CHF which is declining and probably will continue declining I hope.

Cheers,

Both posts of yours here are counterproductive more over than the repetitive threads on topics you feel are redundant!

You need to step back and remember that not all are as tuned in as you deem yourself to be, nor is your ignorance appropriate!!
How about hitting the back button on threads that you feel are pointless, and try to add value in threads that are worthwhile to your enjoyment/interests!!

This would in-turn, make the enjoyment for others on the forum, a much better place to frequent........

Think of it as body of people, and not just one individual who knows better!

Frankly I am confused and offended at your tone to my posts....my comments were not directed at one or two individuals, rather at the particular topic on the "price increase related posts" I have read numerous threads on this particular thread and every answers are the same...unless someone who works at rolex who is privy to this knowledge, is a member here and can confirm these increases, I find such threads counterproductive and redundant....my recommendation or observation is that why post something to which there is no answers? If my comments are derailing the enjoyment of others, then they can simply hit the back button or move on to other threads as you have suggested...why that will be a fine idea! Furthermore, is there a rule here that says we all have to agree on everything? Perhaps some may feel the same way as I do? If not, so be it...but your response illustrates the shortsightedness of this forum and your response can lead to others from enjoying different perspective....i am an adult and can handle varying opinions and make critical sensitive decisions and form opinions...and I believe most who are here can make that choice...my intentions are not to take enjoyment from others as you may have suggested, rather offer my own opinion... And if they find that I am hindering their enjoyment.....? Well can't make everyone happy.....

Rolex prices will go up this year just like every year.

Is anyone surprised?

Yep. This is like asking will the sun rise tomorrow?
A couple hundred thousand years from now or more it might not but... that's the same with Rolex price increases.

Funny how 2 ADs mentioned about a pending Rolex price increase as I am looking for another watch. I sometimes wonder whether it is marketing tactic to rush me into a purchase decision.

But again, Rolex do periodically raise prices as the demand continues to go up especially in other parts of the world; and if I wait too long, I will be buying that watch 5-10% more.

Decisions! Decisions! Decisions!

My AD has been uncannily accurate with predicting price increases, but sadly way off when it comes to the arrival time of the new watches.

With gold prices on a massive high , i think that watch prices will fall back in line when gold becomes cheaper ! never mind price increases !

Rolex must have lost loads of sales due to the global economy say 10 %
so there powers that be put an extra 10% on prices and there back to a level playing field again !

What goes up must come down !

On the contrary, our sales of Rolex are up on last year. The general trend we've been seeing is that the sub £300 price range, and the £3000+ price range have been performing particularly well - it's just the bits in between that have been a bit slow. I guess a lot of people are cutting their losses with the banks and investing in quality items - I think the only brands that will be losing out are low quality ones. I still believe that the impact of the financial crisis has been blown out of proportion by the press, certainly here in the UK. There's still plenty of money out there, and plenty of people wanting to buy Rolex

Price hikes are inevitable... it happens either every year, twice a year(!) or every two years... It applies not just to Rolex, but many other brands.

Exception here could be Zenith, which introduced a series of entry price watches in the past two years despite the fact that these watches are using the same (and improved!) El Primero and Elite movements.

What I really hope for is some stability in the servicing costs... Just hurt us once (during the initial purchase) and not again every 5-7 years when the servicing is due :(
