Where's the best place to buy a new Oyster Strap??

Hi, I have a 2003 Midsize Datejust with a stainless steel bracelet. I've noticed that it's slightly bent where the strap meets the watch [the lugs?] and this causes the strap to look a little stretched and to "wobble" in this place. Can it be repaired, and if not where is a good place [online or in the UK] to buy a replacement. I know that going to Rolex direct would cost a fortune, but what sort of prices could I expect. Weirdly I can't seem to find anything through Google.
Many thanks, Sarah

You're not going to find any online retailers selling authentic bracelets for any type of steep discount. I'd be shocked if you find one at all online. Your best bet would be through the classified section on this forum, may want to post a want to buy ad. Other than that, you may want to ping Steve M.on this forum, however I have not seen him around here in a while. Last option is through Rolex direct, which will most likely run about $1,000 USD for a steel oyster bracelet. Good luck!!

It can be repaired for about $150, but you will need to ship it to Michael Young in Hong Kong. Do a search for his work here on the forums.

You can find pre-owned replacement bracelets right here on the forum in the Classifieds. If your particular band isn't for sale presently, you can also post in the "Want to Buy" thread.

Before doing that, why not drop-in at a Rolex AD with an in-house watchmaker and just ask them to pull the bracelet off and tell you what they see as the problem?

Maybe something like a bent spring bar could be the issue...

Take it to a decent watchmaker.. It probably only needs a new pair of 20 dollar spring bars..

Thanks so much I shall take it to an AD tomorrow and see if it's easily repairable. the $20 option DOES sound preferable to the $1000 option!

some terrible advice here. seeing as you are in london, just take it into st james square next week. don't waste your time going into an AD/other watchmaker.
