Opinion re V Series SS Daytona 2009 LNIB

Hi All, would really like all of your valuable input regarding my latest endeavor.

I have been searching the boards and locally for a SS Black Face Daytona V-series with then newest clasp. I have found a couple of them locally through non AD brick and mortar stores. They are running about $12k.

I ran across a "private party" who bought the Daytona new from an AD in September 2009, never worn all papers and stickers still intact. The private party allegedly never wore it, just put in safe.

I am thinking I can get this watch for somewhere in the $10,500 range. My only concern is "no warranty".

What are your thoughts regarding this deal? I guess the question lies, is it worth $1500 to take a chance on this watching having problems in the next two years?

Thanks in advance guys or gals,

I believe a RSC on a Daytona is $750. If it is truely NIB or LNIB for $1,500 less - I say go for it!

Isn't $10,500 like MSRP for SS

I think you can do better here on TRF from one of the trusted sellers and avoid the sales tax too

Some people like the AD experience and some find the amount that they can save worth not having to pay full price. Determine what you prefer to do, but whatever you decide ensure you buy the seller and make sure your getting what your paying for.

Yes, I agree MSRP is around $11,250, but I have yet to find an AD in California with one in stock or on display. Add in 10% tax and we are in about $12.5, Most sellers are grey market with and still running around $12k...

For the price differance, for me, it is not worth not going new. I have bought both ways and the SS Daytona holds it's value so well when it came time to buy I bought new from an AD. Several hundred dollars , or a thousand, does not offset the long term piece of mind for me. If it was more savings I would consider it. Just my thoughts.

The difference is not significant enough for me, I got mine brand new, and I'm glad I did.

I don't see anything wrong with the deal if it is the watch you want..

The odds of it needing warranty work are pretty slim..

Come to Scottsdale, I'll bring you to a couple tomorrow. Then ship it and save the tax too
