Any chart of Rolex movement markings v/s references?
Hi, just wondering if there is a chart of Rolex movement markings v/s references. For example some Rolex movements have ROW markings on their movement bridge, similarly there must be some movement engravings specific to a particular reference that will help in judging if a movement is genuine to Rolex or not. Is especially important if someone tried for example to fit say a Valjoux 72 movement from another brand into a Rolex, etc.
An example though not Rolex, see this Valjoux 72c movement in a Breitling Datora that actually doesn't belong to a Breitling Datora(It's another matter that the dial is fake too). You can know that by looking at the export code EOP engraved on the movement which is for some other watch company:), so that movement has just been transplanted in, scary. Breitling had BOW, WOG or nothing on the bridge depending on the year the movement was from. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Brei...ht_5138wt_1163 See the movement shot http://www.auctiva.com/hostedimages/...0,0,0&format=0 Would be nice to know if a chart like that exists for Rolex movements and references!
