Icon7 Best complement today

I have had my Daytona now since November of 2008. Two people have commented on my watch (other than my family...which most of those comments are about how frivolous my watch purchase was ).
However, today I had a genuine comment from a 5 year old boy.
"That is a very cool watch, I like the buttons and the little circles".

Made my day ....because the comment was honest....not because it is a Rolex or the cost of it..... it was just because he thought it was a cool watch.

People who usually criticize you choice of watches secretly wishes they could have one. The way I see it life is too short to wear crap on your wrist. Rolex is such a quality time piece if you ever needed to sell them, you could!

Children have the most direct and pure responses....I can understand how it you made your day!!

On the same topic, during my recent holiday, I was walking down the footpath with my wife, when a young family was walking to-wards us.
A mother, father, and two young boys in approx. age of 5 to 6.
One boy, without hesitation, looked at his father and said, "Dad, there's another man with no hair!!" All this in the most innocent and questioning tone you could imagine...
I couldn't help but smile at the father and continue on, while my wife, pranced beside me in fits of laughter!!!
What a gem it was....

don't you just hate it when people make comments on how frivolous our watch purchases are? We work hard and we play hard (ahem ahem buy hard) LOL i mean to each of thier own... some do drugs... some womanize..some collect $25000 comic books and some buy fast cars... its only money.... if you have it enjoy it unless your planning to make a coffin out of money then by all means just stare at it...

Nice story boss. I was expecting you to write that the young lad said to his dad that you guys should have used Rogaine! Good to see you posting again. Hope you had a good holiday!

I love it! I had a similar experience just the other day. I was visiting my sister and my four year old nephew. He was running around the room like a maniac, and on the way to grab a toy he commented "I like your watch!" (Omega AT 8500). Completely random and genuine. And surprising he even noticed considering how he was running around.

It just made my day. I've decided to give it to him on his 21st birthday.

Children do speak with refreshing honesty and purity. The comment about liking the "little circles" reminded me of a similar experience with my 4 year old daughter. When following me around at a watch shop she said "I like your watch the best daddy, because yours has little circles in it!" referring to the hour markers on my sub.
