Reporting a fake Rolex on ebay - questions

I'm fairly new here so please forgive these questions it they are dumb or inappropriate ...

First, i love this site and the fact that you guys watch out for the rest of us by reporting those who try to sell fake Rolexes.

How does the reporting process work?
Does ebay punish the seller somehow? The seller should somehow be dinged (banned?, loss of reputation?) for attempting to sell a fake.
Does ebay pull the item or do they force the seller to do that?

Thanks in advance!
Steve

eBay will remove the listing if counterfeit. They can and do restrict the sellers activity and on occasion they will ban the seller.

While not Rolex related, I have seen eBay accounts banned for dodgy behaviour.

I don't know if anyone here keeps a list of fake Rolex seller accounts on eBay to know if the accounts are killed after the items are pulled.

Thanks Red Wolf - i did a little more research, which i probably should have done before posting and found that ebay does have a policy covering fakes, including penalties.

Hello Steve,

Nobody here has a "magic wand" to pull items from ebay. Only ebay can pull a listing. Members here, or anyone for that matter, may contact ebay to have a listing reviewed for inappropriate content. What you will see here are ebay listings with counterfeit, fake or inappropriate descriptions that are posted on TRF to warn and protect potential bidders here and keep them from becoming a victim of another ebay scam.

Once eBay have been notified of a possible counterfeit item how do they decide whether to pull it,do they have a panel of experts that can judge authenticity?

Thanks springer and MoBe! Again, i'm just glad that the knowledgeable people here at TRF are watching out for the rest of us.

I did read that sometimes Rolex' attorneys try to gain restitution from these sellers, which is good!
