Reliability-wise I'd go Acura all day long.

Infiniti is really moving up the ranks and after some mixed history is pushing some Germans aside.

My partner has the fx35 and my 90 pound dog will not fit in the back with the sloping rear end. I love it for the front cabin comfort though.

But hey, if you want a "cross over" to satisfy a delicate nature, its entirely you choice. They lack a bit of character, which is why G Wagon or Range Rover is step above. |

when my uncle was buying an X1, i took the X5 for a spin. couldnt say i loved it. fuel consumption was bad, but the seats were plush.
as i havent owned an X5, im not sure about any reliability issues. but i can only assume that service is going to be pricey.

I've had an X5 35d for 2 and a half years. No issues except for an oxygen sensor that got replaced under warranty. It doesn't drive like my wife's 3 series (what does?) but it drives better than any truck I've ever driven. It's a diesel so it gets good gas mileage ( 24 mpg in mixed driving) and it has tons of torque. Fit and finish is excellent. By far the best vehicle I've owned.
Did not like the MDX. The interior is busy and cluttered and it felt cheap. The performance was blah. Only thing going for it was price, but the lease numbers were close. To me, the X5 was a the clear choice. |

That's my problem. I don't need a third row of seats, but I need room for a couple bags and a big dog. I hate the bigger SUVs, but my new dog is a buck twenty. When the time comes for a new rig I'll look at the available wagons, but even the X5 and M class, etc might not "walk the dog".
