Icon14 And The Winner Is: Adele's Grammys Sweep

Adele doesn't need to be propped up by dancers, pink hair, blue hair, bizarre clothing or any of distractions that some singers use to hide that the fact they have zero talent. Adele is a rare artist who can capture an audience with her voice and her spirit. Congrats Adele!

Adlele, Jennifer Husdson, & the Foo Fighters all reminded people what genuine talent sounds like!

Adele - I just love that girl! Pure talent and none of the shallow, silly hype.

Ahem... Well, looks like I'm not making any friends on here... (actually, these days my goals have diminshed to reducing the level of hatred...) but...

I CAN'T STAND her voice

I am glad she won her awards and is not a singer that goes all... "Madonna-ized" to perform (wild hair, costumes, stunts etc.) but.. I.. just... can't stand her voice!!!!!!!!! The coffee shop I frequent has a radio station that plays that song... "someone like you(?)" every ten minutes... and when she gets to that ... loud... (to me, Screaming) part I have to cover my ears; kind of like having fingernails running across a black board. I heard a dog hollowing when they played the song this morning then I realized it was me....

OK, bring on the hate mail.... Sorry guys, and if you are fans, then more power to you and I'm glad your choice won the awards But I've taken to wearing headphones connected to my Ipod in the coffeeshop and when her song comes on the radio I crank up my Black Sabboth VERY LOUDLY

Paul, have you gone deaf??

Ok, I have heard that Lisa would love it(probably) if you serenade her with a rendition of "someone like you" and post on youtube.

I'll accompany you on the triangle if you like.

Love that gal. Here's a video that really shows her talent imo.

Paul, it's the squeakiness or hoarseness you dislike? I noticed when she performed at the Grammys her voice was much smoother and clearer. I think the surgery on her vocal cords took away some of the raspiness.

Take a listen to Home Town Glory - it's lesser known and from her first album - and maybe you'll like her a little better. It's my favorite song of hers but it's not played much.

Let me grab my ukulele, we'll rock the hell out of this song!

I’m more impressed that Bon Iver, won the Grammy award for Best New Artist.

That's exactly right Lisa.... it was the squeeky-raspy voice that sounded like someone who smoked a carton of cigarettes every day... Maybe her new ones are better.... I'll keep an open mind.

I do hope she cuts back on the ciggies - those will ruin her looks and her voice...

No argument, she's a true artist. Writes her own songs, has a great voice, and is humble = winner!

i do not like her music at all. Good voice and as you say better than most of the current crop but still would not pay to hear her music at all.
