During the 1930's, the International Watch Company received a special order from a Portuguese customer for a wristwatch with the same size and accuracy as a pocket watch. That watch was called the Portugieser. In 1995, IWC released the first modern Portugieser, the Ref. 5441. The watch quickly became a collector's item and today it is almost impossible to obtain.

Because of the size, cost, and rarity of the model 5441 Portugieser, IWC recently released a smaller Portugieser. This one, Ref. 3532, is a limited edition of that watch, one of only 500 sold worldwide. It is in a magnificently finished 35mm x 8mm solid platinum case with sapphire display back. The original white dial has silver Arabic numerals and hands. The watch is on a matching aftermarket black crocodile finished strap with signed tang type solid platinum buckle is in the box. The non-screw down crown is signed, and the crystal is sapphire. This watch is excellent condition. The modified Jaeger LeCoultre caliber 891/2 36 jewel automatic movement has a platinum insert on the rotor. It maintains accurate time to two seconds a day.
