BB's customer service is almost as bad, if not worst, than Torneau's. Don't feel bad at all.

That maybe true at the other BBs, but not at this store. I usually go to this BB to check out their Rolexes, since I live in Montclair, and this is the closest Rolex AD to my house. And they treat me nicely every time I walk in, even though they know that I was only there to look. The manager Bobby didn't even charge me when I brought my DJ in for resizing. |

Shame.
We used to have some robberies in downtown helsinki, some involved a car through the bulletproof glass! Some robbers where even so brave they did it in daylight... Hundreds of witnesses. Gangs from Estonia and Russia mostly. Hasn't happened for some time now. I wonder where these watches go? Online for sale? Or are there buyers ready...?

It baffles me that they used airsoft guns when it's really not that difficult to get real firearms in the US...and then dropped a magazine. Why? Did they bring extra mags to reload their airsoft guns in the middle of the heist in case they ran out of BBs?
I hope they catch these clowns. |

Perhaps it's because they know that things could have gone horribly wrong had they used a real gun.

The BB store that got hit here in Vegas 2 weeks ago kept the Rolex watches in the case close to the exit. I will assume they might want to rethink that.

A.) A policemen will gladly shoot someone holding a toy gun B.) The FBI will pour the same resources (if they have jurisdiction) on incidents that involve toy guns. C.) Many in law enforcement have an extra bit of anger towards perps that use fake weapons in serial crimes because it can lead to civilians believing a crime in progress may not have real guns in use, leading to vigilantism and putting those that foolishly intervene at great risk. D.) Law enforcement arguably works harder to catch criminals that use fake weapons because it is counter-PR to the perps giving a "Robin hood" persona that some in the general public may sympathize with. |

This is getting out of hand... No excuse for this to be happening all over the country at all. Hopefully law enforcement will take this seriously and crack down on these ridiculous robberies.

Looks like organised criminals are as busy as ever and it would appear that the US is among the favorite places to do " business " these days, very unfortunate.

Use a gun go to prison used to be a California slogan and i still think its in effect, doesnt matter what kind of gun! As for the silly comment about not feeling sorry for the store, he lives in La Jolla where that kinda stuff doesnt happen.... i mean a Panerai boutique is opening up there within the next week!

You would think they would be more interested in diamonds much smaller in size and none of those pesky serial numbers although I understand that diamonds are now being etched with serial's as well

With several of these brazen thefts around the country in recent months, I wonder how long it will take before a TRF member will be sold a stolen Rolex. Any deals too good to be true on real, current model LNIB Rolex watches should be looked at with additional skepticism.
I would imagine the thieves will have targeted the precious metal Rolex watches...DD's, and solid gold Subs/GMT's in particular. Maybe diamond dials too....

The problem is that; 1) diamonds have a smaller market to sell into for the thieves. Ordinary people are not likely to shell out big bucks for diamond jewelry from a stranger..they are very hard for the average joke to authenticate and value. Rolex watches are much easier to authenticate and value by an average person as their MSRP value is well known. 2) Domestically, the same people who would wear fake rolexes are probably the target market for stolen rolexes as the same principle applies...they count on the fact that no one can really verify the fake or stolen watch usually unless they take if off their wrists. The only difference is someone wearing a stolen Rolex may try and pass it off as a replica.

My first guess would be Asia, most likely China. They will probably get there in the cabin of a Chinese merchant seaman. My second guess would be Russia via DHL/FedEx.
