while we are discussing material objects, a lot of people in the US are suffering after the hurricanes...

They were tornado's, much worse than hurrican as they appear in minutes with really no advance warning.

I guess the big ones were F4's, real bad stuff

Missed my house by just a few miles. It was very strange watching debris falling from the sky.
A colleague of my wife's lost both her parents from the tornado that cut thru Piner Ky, very sad here in the midwest.

My prayers go to all those going through difficult times and suffering. I was just reading about an entire family that lost their lives and it is hard to comprehend.

No, not at all, thanks for the well wishes....I never lived in area that was tornado friendly..... aside from an earthquake I don't think anything is more suprising and unsettling than a tornado.

I was in LA in 1994 during the Northridge quake, woke me up from a sound sleep as house was collapsing around me. I did not sleep sound for months afterwards.

My thoughts are with those affected...

Thanks to the OP for reaching out. Although we were spared in Charlotte some communities around the city got hit albeit with relatively minor damage. We are all lucky individuals here and my thoughts go out to those affected.
