Is the Sky Dweller the first Annual Calender from Rolex?

Hi All,

Is the Sky Dweller the first 'Annual Calender' from Rolex? Some vintage models appear to be quite similar?

Thanks,

Peter

I would be surprised if it wasn't the first.

Maybe not the first. I found two similar examples but would rather let the real experts weigh in on how valid they are.

Those are complete calendars and not annual calendars. So, to answer the OP, yes, Sky-Dweller is the first Rolex annual calendar.

Do you mean they are real and they are perpetual calender watches?

The examples posted are indeed real (and beautiful). But, no, a complete calendar is not a perpetual calendar. It is simply a calendar showing day, date and month. It still needs correction for months with 30 days and also adjustments for February, etc.

All the older moonphase and calendar watches were powered with quite simple movements from ETA and Valjoux. The annual calendar in the Sky dweller is the first from Rolex but even that one you must change the date for March 1st
