For me,
Nice cold beer after work,
Then will have some scotch later in the evening

Going to a bicycle club dinner tonight; so, it'll probably be Fat Tire Ale at the restaurant and coffee and a Drambuie at home. Ok, maybe 2 Drambuie's; it's Friday.

Back when I was into scotch, I used to adore Springbank; The 21 and the 30... And Glenrothe's, some Oban, Balvanine DoubleWood...

That's only a small part of my collection, James. I won't bore you with the rest of it. Suffice it to say, I've got about 30+ different single malts. But the Macallan 25 (sherry cask) is by far my favorite. Best sipping whisky ever distilled.

BTW, Daren tried that same tactic a while back. Didn't work for him either. But keep trying - you never know.

I am a rather persistent fellow when it involves scotch

The Macallan 25 year old sheery cask is some truly beautiful scotch. And it sounds like you have an excellent collection, based on your liking of the Macallan!

I have a particular hankering for The Balvenie 21 year old Portwood cask vintage. Absolutely stunning scotch. I have 24 single malts and a couple of premiere blends. And I have several top-end Irish whiskeys, as well as some very fine bourbon. Nothing better to chase away the winter cold than a glass of premium spirits in front of a roaring fire.

I started my evening off with a free Scotch at my AD. Well not entirely free. I paid $7900 for a new White Dial SS Daytona!

James, if you can get your hands on a Balvenie 30 yr old aged in Bourbon casks, try it. It's about as close anything I've tasted to the Macallan - actually the taste is quite different but magnificant. So far, the only place I've been able to find it is in the Scotch Whisky shop at Terminal 3 in Heathrow.

Yep, I've read about that vintage of Balvenie. Ill ask my local Scotch guy and see what he can do - he's come up with stuff that I've thought impossible to get, so may be this time he can pull another mircale out of the hat. And I sure do love that Scotch Whisky shop at Heathrow's T3. I've been through there 6 - 8 times over the past 18 months and stop by there and pick-up a bottle or two everytime. Picked up a beautiful vintage Dalwhinnie and a vintage Oban - nectars! And my wife really wanted the Dalwhinnie (she loves it).
