You know I have always said the hunt is half the fun...
...well.......vintage is taking that to a whole new level for me. (I don't own a vintage yet)
I can't tell you how many hours I've spent "shopping" lately and I have no leads! Yeah.....its fun!

Good things come to those who wait Mik....
Cliché, but true!

very true when it comes to vintage. It's important not to get "buck fever" and pull the trigger at the first watch that comes along because you are not able to wait any longer. Discerning collectors know that eventually what they want will come along.
My personal view is that if the watch I want does no come along then it was not meant to be. If you need immediate gratification then a new Rolex from the AD is the way to go.

Guys, I'm not getting impatient. I'm enjoying the hunt! I never really looked and always assumed that there were more out there than there are, that's all.

Be patient Mik!!! You have many good folks here who will help fuel the fire and be on the look out.. the hunt is great indeed!! I know that my 1680 took about 6 months to source.. 1675 about 3 months and 5513.. another 3 months... after you see enough specimens.. when the right one comes along, you just know it! Fred |

Bill, the hunt is the rush!! I spent 2 1/2 years looking for this 1937 telephone dial for Nancy. I came across several during my search, but most had very poor dials or non-original bracelets. Perserverence finally paid off, and I found this all original museum quality piece in Australia:

Yep. We weren't in a hurry, wanted to find the right watch. And we knew that once we had it, it was going to be around for a lot of years.
Perseverence my friend, it will eventually pay off.

Patience is important! In my experience, it can be more difficult to flip the vintage piece than a modern should you want to move on to another. I've lost my shirt a couple of times due to impatience!

The hunting process is the most enjoyable part. You don't know what will come up next.
