Yr 2000 GMT2-loose bracelet>damaged pin(s)>expensive fix?

Hi Guys,

I've owned my GMT for 11 years and have worn it everyday (reg. cleaned) , being small wristed the AD at the time of purchase had taken out as many of the screwed-in-links to best fit the wrist, (and not advised/offered to remove the permanent link/s) I'd subsequently was left with an asymmetric configuration like the following image -> lopesided GMT.jpg
and still loose on my small wrist (so much fitting both forefinger & index finger under clasp) and I'd worn the watch with a case-pull towards the 12 0-clock side.

Today I'd spotted a noticeble gap (twice if not more than the other link gaps) on largest link pin (on 12-clock side of bracelet) so much so that I can see "half" in cross-section of the pin rod in the centre link , indicating a very severe wear on the outer pin, only akin to the image below (found on web)->5513bracelet_2.jpg.

Having come across several good writeups in this forum, I've now accepted that a link on the 6-o-clock side should be removed (so the watch face will sit flat on wrist & tight- with only little finger gap under clasp) , BUT my big question here is can I get an Independent Rolex dealer to re-use the link taken from 6 -o-clock side to replace the damaged link/pin on the 12 0-clock side?


Also would you say GP£100 is a fair price for a bracelet & case polish at an Independent ? and would you use an Authorised Dealer or independent (but a rolex reseller/refurbisher) to Service your rolexes?
