My recently departed true friend

She passed away sometime last night. Her name was Azzy, she was 12-1/2 years old! My only true friend. I would give away all my Rolex's and then some to have her back!

She was only 8 weeks old in the 3rd picture down.

Sorry about Azzy. I hope she went peacefully. Is that a pic of her or just her breed?

I know exactly what you mean - I'd do the very same to have my old pal back.

That is a pic of the breed, but it's identical in every aspect, including the coloring of the coat and stance. I am going to try and post some of her baby pic's later today. Your responses mean so much at a time like this.

Sorry to hear that, pal. I can understand the emotional involvement between man and pets.....and how painful it can get when the time finally comes.

Sorry about your loss. I'm not looking forward to that day when it comes for my buddies. Rescued them both and they do indeed become part of the family.

I often think it is unfair that dogs live such relatively short lives, but I do think it would be more difficult on the dog if their master died, leaving them without their "buddy."

I have an elderly dog (see my avatar), we got her a few months after we got married, and she was our first baby. I know I will feel like you feel now, some day, hopefully not too soon.

I am very sorry to hear that about Azzy. I woke up this morning and took a bath and washed my hair. I opened the bathroom door and let my dog in the washroom. I ran him a warm bath and gave him a bath too! I love my dog and I was very young when I lost my first dog to cancer. There is another dog out there that needs love. It took me years to get over my first dog.

I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of Azzy. I know how you feel I lost my beloved Rotti 5 weeks ago she was 11 years old (she had cancer). I also would have given all my material possessions away just to have her back.

You can't quite comprehend how physically & emotionally your heart aches with the loss. Pets give you such unconditional love, its always hard to see them go. My friend sent me this verse. I thought you may also find comfort in the reading.

"Farewell my humans,
Yet not farewell,
Where I go you too shall dwell.
I am gone before your face,
A moment's time, a little space.
When you come where I have stepped
You will wonder why you wept."

Sorry to hear about Azzy!!! To me, my dog is no different than a human. Some people dont think this way about animals but I do know how you feel.

12 1/2 years is a great life and Im sure she enjoyed it!!!

Absolutely agree.....

Watches are nice, but a good pet is a friend and part of the family. Autumn, our golden retriever and I send our condolences on the loss of your friend, and out hope that you will soon have a new puppy messing up the floors and taking your shoes into the yard....

My condolences on Azzy's passing. My dogs have always been members of the family, not just pets, I understand how you feel.

My deepest condolences to you and your family.

I have two Cairns myself (see avatar). They both still are fairly young, but I can still feel a bit of hurt thinking about one of them passing away.

Wish you and your family all the best!

I've wondered sometimes how fair it is that our dogs live such short lives, but your thought above is a very nice one.

My condolences to you. I know how if feels to lose a friend like that. My wife and I have no children - our cats have always filled that area for us, and over the years, we have lost many of our animal friends.

Remember the good times... remember all times spent with your friend.
