Happy Thanksgiving Weekend!!!
To all of our Canadian members, have a great Thanksgiving weekend!!! The southern Ontario weather forecast is outstanding: Saturday, Sunday and Monday, 26C. A great time to head up to the cottage, have Thanksgiving dinner , then close the place down for the season.
Do me one big favour. Drive to arrive alive.

Thanks, Al. Same to you. We just finished our long drive and are firmly settled into the hotel for the weekend (going to the Sens game tomorrow).
And best wishes to all fellow Canadians on this long weekend - stay safe. James

So what's the story that goes with the holiday? And does your holiday shopping season also start after thanksgiving?

"In Canada Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday in October. Unlike the American tradition of remembering Pilgrims and settling in the New World, Canadians give thanks for a successful harvest. The harvest season falls earlier in Canada compared to the United States due to the simple fact that Canada is further north." As for shopping season....my wife would respond....What there's a season for shopping?? Someone better invent some more seasons then!!!1 |

Poutine is a cardiac arrest waiting to happen. But it sure is darn good stuff.
And I think that poutine is kind of regional, although the originator of the dish is firmly French-Canadian. James
