I wore my 5512 as a combat advisor to the RVN Army in 1966, and as a pilot in 1968. Still wearing it today.

I was with the 101st from 74-79 and wore a rootbeer, daily. Beat the crap out of it. When I see it on my son, I'm still impressed with what a great looking watch it is.

Mostly GMT's, a few Submariners and Tudors along with a hodgepodge of other Rolex models.

Yes, thank you, BlueMartiniFan for sharing.
God bless your parents, you, and the same to Lady YM.

Posted previously that I went Army. But, was a Navy Brat too.
Dad retired as a Navy Chief. I learned so much more than any book could convey as a dependent by seeing and living in Asia (plus long two tours in Hawai'i...lucky buck). Went to about a dozen schools and earned Eagle Scout through Scout units sponsored by overseas U.S. Naval units.

I owe so much to my country.

Was in Subic Bay, Philippines 1968-70 when I got hooked on watches. Can't recall what I had. But I eyed a Zodiac Diver every time I went to the Exchange. My fellow 5th grader and watch buddy, Ethan Barton, and I had the goal to, someday, get a Rolex. Hope Ethan saw that happen.

MCox...
Looks like you and the Major are at Carquinez Strait (kinda near Travis AFB)?
My dad retired at Treasure Island, S.F. and I'm still in the Bay Area. That pic looks close to home :)
