I wonder if this new Rolex store in Manhattan means that some of the other dealers in Manhattan will soon be forced to close their doors...

I think it is just Wempe pulling out all the stops. Using the ground floor of the RSC building is a smooth play. Shouldn't affect other ADs in the NYC area.

Clark, here are two more! I am still reeling over being in Rolex Nirvana! The Wempe boutique is just as impressive as the Wynn Rolex boutique in Vegas

Here in Chicago we have to close to 4 AD in a five mile radius. They all seem to be doing well.

After 3 weeks since it opened, I finally got into NYC on business and diverted myself to check out the new Rolex Boutique by Wempe at 5th & 53rd. Wow. They have over 800 watches on display, organized by precious metals and by model. They had all the current Sub versions including a 14060M and the previously reported missing Hulk, tons of variations of Daytonas, differnet sizes and gold combos of YM & YM II, too many DJs and DDs to take in at one time, etc. Incredible.

Just as a quick estimate go with avg sell price $8-10K and you've got $6.4 - 8.0 million of Rollies to soak in and take stock of in one place.

In the special display case as you enter they had grouped the 26, 31, 36 & 42 mm DJs along with a 34 mm Oyster Date, just for comparison. Very illustrative. Each had the same hue Rolex blue dial as shown in the attached photo.

Customer service was excellent. They were attentive but not overbearing and quite willing to let me try on any watch in the store, even offering a chance to don a $100K+ diamond studded platinum DD II. Snoop Dog might be the only guy alive who could pull off wearing that one. They even gave me a copy of the new 2012 catalog. For those who may have had issues in the past, let me be say this was a really top-notch AD experience.

Just below the NYC RSC and down 5th Ave. from a large all-brand Wempe, this is a mecca not to be missed by any TRF members in the Big Apple.

The Wempe Rolex boutique is the top boutique in the Americas rivaling the Century City boutique in California and Wynn boutique in Vegas. The only shop that is slightly better is the Rolex boutique in Dubai
