Can't find LEC on new Submariner

Hello all...my FIRST ROLEX (it's been a long time coming...) and I got the 116613LN (Black, Steel, and Yellow), from the AD at the Wynn in LV. The only question I have is, I cannot for the life of me find the LEC on the crystal...Have they stopped etching them on the crystals? The nite-shiny color is blue-ish, so I don't know what year model it would be, but I was just wondering if anyone knew if they stopped etching LEC's on the crystals of Submariners?

Any feedback would be most appreciated...I am now wearing this watch EVERYDAY!!! My others are probably going to feel neglected now...LOL

Welcome to TRF.

You bought it from an AD no worries.

However shine a bright light on the crystal at a 45 degree angle and you should be able to see it.

It's there just sometimes hard to find.

Shine a torch at the 12 o'clock part of the dial and the LEC will glow like a beacon at 6 o'clock!!

It's extremely hard to see with the naked eye. I've got 20/20 and have to play around with all kinds of angles and lighting to get a glimpse of it. But when I do see it...

This obviously is not a SubC but I assume the same method works. You have to have the light source at a certain angle. In this pic the light is from the 9 o'clock side.

Get a 10x loupe and put a LED light on at from the 12 o'clock position and start your hunt at the 6 area. Kinda lie the light down across the glass from the 12

Or get a camera and start snappin

It's there. Just make sure you use a good light source. Move the watch in different angles....you'll see it.

I FOUND the cuss!!! LOL...man, they meant it when they said that it would be hard to find and that counterfeits would be evident, large, and easy to find...I had to use a Nikkor Micro 200mm to see it, but since I wasn't using a tripod, it's all blurry!!! LOL...at least, I can see it... Yayyyyy

You'll see it. It is there. You got it from a great place! Shine a light @ an angle. It should light up!

Here's my picture using an LED flashlight and a Nikkor 18-200mm.

I'm so old, there's no such thing as a naked eye for me anymore, but with my progressives on I can see the coronet in the bright sunlight quite easily.

Yes its hard to see but as you bought from a AD why even strain you eyes to even look for it.The LEC is laser-etched into the crystal its not on the crystal surface or underneath, its made up of hundreds of dots set at different heights throughout the crystal, (so it doesn’t create a weakness in the crystal) this is what makes it barely visible to the naked eye..
