The Rolex Report: An Unauthorized Reference Book For The Rolex Enthusiast

Has anyone read this? Do you think it'd be worth it and be accurate?

For only $40, you really can't go wrong. I thought it was a nice reference book, even if some of the material is a little dated. I enjoyed it.

This one is the one every Rolex collector should get in my opinion.

The Best of Time Rolex Wristwatches: An Unauthorized History (Schiffer Book for Collectors)

Gosh. I have to say, I bought the book - never use it.

It is quite old - 2002 - unless this is a new edition...doesn't look like it. The last review is from 2003. There is a section which tells you how to spot fakes...but it wasn't terribly relevant to me.

Not a bad price if you really want it.

Reading the Amazon reviews , the one thing that would put me of is the black and white pics.

I think back to some of the great shots here.....

I guess if its just for info , then its okay. Although if you only want info - its right here on TRF :)

I have it. It's great... The copy I have is a bit out of date but it's still a great place to start...

I've had this book for years and have spent a lot of time studying it.

I would say that it needs to be updated at this point though.

I have "The Rolex Report" as well as "The Best of Time". While I enjoyed reading the Rolex Report, I think I could of skipped it. I bought the Best of Time second, as I still wanted more information. I will probably get "Rolex Sports Models" next. I'd love to see something such as a "Rolex Bible", but I have no idea if even that could be done. Also, I am one of those types that will not spend $800 on a book.

Lawrence please have him view this thread so he can properly update the reference book! I believe all of us here on TRF and around the world would be greatly appreciative!

The Mondani Books are second to none IMO. The Sub book has gone up in price - like Rolex watches - significantly since first published.

I would like to get the GMT Master edition which now includes the GMTIIC. The photography is "bloody superb" - to pinch brother Dan / SPUD'S phrase. However, there are also great details and close ups of dial fonts etc. which are sure to please some minutiae fans and irritate Padi to no end!!!

I´ve had a copy of this book for some years now. It´s a great reference book, and I often use it to gather some information.
