Help with girlfriend's step-dad's watches
Hey guys, my girls step-dad is planning on selling his 2 Daytona rolex's and showed them to me to take photos do you guys can "value" them. The TT daytona's movement is a little weird to me. When I go to change the time, turning the crown clockwise the minute hands goes backwards and turning the crown counterclockwise it moves forward. The other Daytona doesn't do this tho! Forward is forward and backwards is backwards. Let me know!
I'm a little IFFY about the TT but I could be wrong |

Neither one looks good to me, but I don't own one, so I can't say definitively.

I'm no Daytona expert. But, the TT with the seconds sub dial at 9:00 has a zenith movement - if it's real. The Zenith hands will go CCW when the crown is turned CW.

No Daytona expert either, but I will say that the gold doesn't appear to be flaking or wearing off anywhere. That's a good sign.

Oh ok, yeah we were both reading about that Zenith movement stuff on the "reference" forum on here. So knowing that they are both good and that the TT is heavily scratched, what would you guys think is a good offer for him to sell them in that condition? I don't know much about the daytona's but I do know that the zenith ones are worth about the same as the newer models. What's a good selling price for each of them in that condition "as is"? Thanks for everyone's help! We both appreciate it!

There are too many variables like service history, internal condition, extra's, etc. to make an intelligent guess. This may sound unusual, but take them to a local watchmaker and then a pawnbroker. You'll get a range closer to reality.
