Help :-) !!!
i am seriously thinking of trading in my 2012 Rolex DSSD to a 2004 AP ROO SS.
i have seen the watch. it's in excellent condition. problem is, i had it vibro tested last saturday and it seems that it loses around 18 seconds a day. the AP has never been serviced, it's a "safe" queen... never got that much wrist time so the owner agreed to a trade...i'm adding a little cash of course. should i go for it or this'll just give me problems in the future...??? tnx for the time guys.... |

I'm no professional, but it sounds like all it needs is a light service and it would be running fine.

As long as the provenance is ok, I'd do it and immediately send to AP for service.

I would try to use the service as part of the negotiation, and try to see if you could get a slightly better price if possible.

Do it and send it in for service so you are under warranty for 2 years.

I would say go for it, but like others mention, do send to APSC and get 2 years peace of mind!

Take the 18 seconds to him and tell him that it's way out of the parameters you want. Ask him if he's willing to have it serviced, a request which he will probably say no to. Then use the servicing cost as a bargaining tool reminding him that your DSSD won't need servicing for possibly 7 years.

Although miracles do happen and I've gotten things back from APCS in 2-3 weeks. I believe!
