Start them early
I had an opportunity to walk into a few watch stores last week in downtown Bangkok with my son (there are lots of them!). He saw some Rolex, Omega, JLC, and other brands with me and was curious and quite interested.
We got home Tuesday night and yesterday morning I went to my AD to pick up a 14060M that I had engraved for my son, whenever he is of age (he is 9 now) to wear such a piece of jewelry. We'll see. I could not resist this morning and I asked him to try it on. I did not tell him I had it engraved for him and he could not see the engraving because of the NATO strap (not that he even thought about looking at the case back). He immediately recognized the Rolex and said he really liked it. We went through several pieces in my collection and the only one that came even remotely close is a Speedmaster Apollo XV limited edition (I think he liked the colors on the dial). He'll have to stick to his Lego and Swatch watches for the near future though. Anyone else has a special piece set apart for their offspring? Here's what the Sub looks like on him: |

Great story. By "modern" standards, that watch already fits him!

Whatever I have goes to my daughter and future other chillins. Great story. I just hope it never shows up on Pawn Stars... :-)

Honestly, I just think it's too early to introduce kids to this kind of things. But that's just my opinion I guess. Nevertheless, a great watch!

My oldest loves my watches and often comments on which one I should wear on a particular day. He is very keen on my Speedie Pro. That's one of my keepers...reserved for him. ;-)
