Engraved Rehaut!

I was admiring my watch in the sun today, and what caught my eye (apart from the dial) was the engraved rehaut. This really was make or break when finding mine, I had to have it!

Post some engraved rehaut pictures! I know it's a little nerdy but I love the way it looks!

I believe so, I don't believe that feature would be easy to replicate on a counterfeit. But with today's innovations I could be wrong.

Yes, very true! It would be a very sad day when counterfeiters start stealing other owners serial numbers and using them on bogus watches.. a cloned watch! scary!

I am not a huge fan, but would not halt my purchase of a modern Rolex due to it. I like the clean look of non-engraved rehaut that accentuates the dial. Engraved rehaut is so '00s.

I like it on some, but not on others. For example, I love it on my random serial SS/ever-rose Datejust with pink dial. Adds a glint of sparkle and texture to the overall apperance of the case. However, I love the clean rehut on my Z serial 16610LV anniversary sub. The clean rehut gives the dial depth, and accentuates the maxi's features. Also keeps it clean, and classic. As new a sub as you get with that classic flavor :)

I like the engraved rehaut. Having the serial on the rehaut is also useful as a back up should the serial between the lugs become worn or pitted over time due to poor care.

From Rolex's point of view i suppose it also means some gray dealers can't erase the serial of the watch, without ruining it.

Unfortunately it will soon no longer be a back-up as Rolex are no longer engraving the 'ID' between the lugs.

That's a pity. I suppose with the rehaut engraved serial, the between-lug engraved serial is redundant.

How many years is the transition period?

Surely the timespan can be estimated according to the earliest and latest known examples out there?

What about the Coronet etching on the crystal? Does Rolex still do this?
