Ouch! Surely you can get it polished by RSC if it bothers you…and it will look just like new.

Sorry to drag up an old thread guys but just wanted to update those who may be interested... I took my watch to my AD and take a look at the results! :-D hopefully I'll keep it out of trouble from now on! Cheers for the advice.

also, one thing I've noticed about the oyster bracelet is the polished center links are flat, so the scratch has more surface area.
on the president bracelet I've noticed because each center link is curved, only the very middle takes nicks and scratches, and the rest stays shiny. just something i noticed, not trying to hijack the thread. i'm looking forward to owning something with an oyster bracelet sometime in the future; glad you got yours resurrected. |

I'm a jeweler, although I am not an AD, I do wear Rolex. I have my watch guy, who is fantastic at polishing, handle the polishing for all my watches.
The most useless thing to take to an AD is a watch polish - that is something that can be done at literally any jeweler or jewelry repair shop. If you have a trusted jeweler or watch man around your area, I would take it to them first. It will most definitely be less expensive, and if its only a small area of scratches that are bothering you, impossible for a Rolex AD to do a "better" job. Probably a lot of people here don't want to hear that^ or may disagree with it, but as someone who is very experienced in the field, you don't need to go to an AD to get a good polish out of your watch. |

Atila, I agree. Polishing is something any good jeweler should know how to do given the nature of the biz they are in. That said, I know my AD would likely do the job for free given how much business I have given them over the years.

Good save. That band looked nasty. I would definitely not purchase gold if you were clueless on how you got them.
