Who else is waiting for the Basel 2012 YM Blue?

I have seen threads about TRFers waiting for this and that model from Basel 2012, but havent seen a waiting thread for the YM Blue 116622.

So who among you is waiting?

Having seen it in real life, I'm not waiting for the release. While the blue dial and red accents are quite striking, the dark dial with the light platinum bezel and bright PCLs just don't come together well IMHO. YMMV.

I won't be buying one... but would like to see it in person. I think I still prefer the SS YM with platinum dial.

I wish Rolex would stop with the PCLs on Tool Watches. I get the Daytona and the DJs but the Yachtmaster too! I still never got over the PCLs on the GMT II C. Hence why I think the best of the new Rolex sport watches is the Sub C hands down. PCLs just make the watches more fragile in my book

I don't understand what is fragile about SS PCL's. They are both made of the same metal and same specs. Yes they might show scratches but brushed will not last any longer than polished. I think if you are buying a 10k watch it should have a little bling.

PCLs on an SS sports watch in my view goes against the grain in a tool watch. Sure it is just as durable but with all those scratches it picks up each day it argues against being a daily wearer. if I want bling I'll do a TT or YG or buy a Breitling! I think Breitling started those polished pcls on their SS Sports watches. That's just my two cents.

All the dislike for the PCL's... lets keep in mind that while the YM is in the professional line, it was designed to be a dressier alternative to the Sub. More refined lines, a smoother, cleaner, curvier case, and just a little bit more class.

It's not a "tool" watch the way the Sub or GMT is... it's a dress piece that you can wear everyday.

I think the PCL's go great with the high polished case and the polished scaling on the bezel. It ties it all together.

I agree... the YM would look odd without PCLs, as would the Daytona

I think this new reference is going to be my new favorite. I've got to wait a year before I can get my Rolex, but this is the one I'm leaning towards most heavily. I think we're expecting this late summer... (we just got the 114060's last week and 116300's today).

I'm pleasantly surprised that I'm happier with the DJ II's than I expected to be, but in person, the flat bezel looks SOO much better than the fluted on that line.

Anyway, Blue YM = win!

I love the new YM II. As for PCLs...that's why I got it over the Sub-C. Looks a little more noticeable with a suit but hey that's just me.

last time i bought the YM PT insert it set me back £2000

i wonder what the price will be jacked up to for the 116622

i bought my YM for less than £2k 10 years ago!

The 116622 is going for $11,550 with the Blue dial, $12,300 for the PT dial.

Having recently had a full personal inspection of all new Baselworld 2012 watches, I can say the YM in blue was to me the best looking new watch wearing the Rolex mark, the Tudor's looked sharp as well, I don't see myself owning a YM, as I have other watches i desire more, but if you think you like them then you will be really happy with the new one, I don't agree with the comment it does not work I think it works great and I prefer the blue to the platinum, but like all things comes down to personal opinion.
