4 years of AP ownership
A look back at AP 4 years back, I treated my self to the ROO RC 4 years ago and never looked back. What I noticed is that the brand wasn't as popular as it is today "locally" speaking when compared to Rolex, Chopard and Cartier which are dime a dozen here.
My BumbleBee is the current holygrail of my watch collection today, it's a truly spectacular piece and I try to wear it as much as I can. I love the brand and I feel I'm stuck in this watch craze for many years to come. To me the BumbleBee will always be the mostly tastefully done "special" AP because it's 1) Lightweight 2) Ceramic Bezel 3) Tastefully done "yellow" highlights 3) Carbon 4) Hornback 5) Overall Decoration. 6) Size 42mm These criteria's made me get it without no hesitation. In regards to my 42mm ROO RC its like the GMT2 Pepsi of the AP world in my perspective. A discontinued model that really has kept it's appeal for many years and I will never replace this watch because it has a special meaning to me and it's my first AP which I got back in 2008. I love Watches since I was a kid and still have my very first pieces of Swatch which I no longer wear but they have a deep sentimental value to me. I have a very deep connection to items that I've got its very hard for me to part with cars, watches and other items. My Daytona has been my favorite everyday piece which I use 90% of the time however I bring the big guns the rest of the time when it's more casual attire (use the Daytona too). Watches to me is a hobby, passion and a thing I enjoy doing. I often hear it's an expensive hobby and so are cars; people do what they like best and might as well do something you like. I always like to be reminded of when you want to do something wrong do it right i.e. treat my self to something I want rather than something I don't which might be obtainable at a present time. I feel very much at home here in TRF after being a member for more than one year, I like to go often as much as I can to forget the miseries in life, the economy, politics and see very cheerful threads of incoming, WRUW and other excellent threads posted here. Enjoy the photo's I've just taken and thanks for stopping by. Photo's have been taken via Nikon D60 DSLR with Nikon AF-S 35mm 1:1.8G lens. |

Anyone else crave shrimp after looking at this pic?
I like that watches have a sentimental value to you, nothing like having heart invested in a hobby, good read. And I totally agree about carbon + ceramic, recipe for great satisfaction.

Great write up. I am a new member of the AP Family but look forward to many many years ahead of owning the different masterpieces the company produces.
