Watches and people who don't understand

I'd post this under general Rolex discussion but I feel that the Audemars section people are more my family than them, so I thought I'd get your opinion on it.

Recently I've taken to Tumblr as other forms of social media kind of bore me. Anyways I wrote a post, if you guys have a minute I'd love some feedback and opinion on what happened to a friend of mine at a party regarding the watch on his wrist.

Have you experienced any negative discussions or attacks based on what's on your wrist?

http://tmblr.co/ZwzV5yPxpDLC

Thanks!

On multiple occasions. And from experience, using the excuse that rolexes are actually (relatively) affordable never flies. So now I talk about the attention to detail, use of material and finishes, etc. But some people will just never understand

I do not judge or question people based on what they are wearing or driving. I may be curious, but that's a whole different matter. Rather, I judge people by their demeanor. The girl was clearly out of line and a hypocrite as well. But not much to say other than that. No reason to engage in discussions with a person like her.

Having said that I am not sure I would be able to keep my poise.

I respect other people's right to do what they like with their money. Especially when it is hard earned money. But even when it might be a kid who's inherited a lot of money or have wealthy parents who spoil him/her, it is their money. The key word is demeanor. And whether you have money or not, or spend them "honorably" or not, I pay attention to how people carry themselves. The girl obviously did not carry herself well, whereas your friend did.

P.S. Do you not want to honor Mr. Edward Auguste Piguet, one of the two founders of Audemars Piguet? Seems you consistently turn Audemars Piguet into just "Audemars"?

I would have asked her when was the last time she did community service or helped out at a soup kitchen, and why was she not there now?

No class. People like her are just the absolute worst, attacking a person's character while not having any kind of knowledge/understanding on the subject she's talking about. All this while carrying an expensive purse, and we all know she only has ONE purse.

No matter where you go or what you wear people all ways going to say something. I come from a Sicilian family and if they see a Rolex on your wrist or a nice watch forget about it you'll never here the end of it espicially women but there allowed to wear $5000 Chanel bags cause they work hard lolol what a joke

i won't lie, there's a big part of me that wished I went with my friend that night after hearing about this little incident. but really, when it comes down to it, what more can (at least males) put on their body to accessorize that shows individuality? sure you can buy your clothes from certain places, drive a certain car, but I think those things are more on display than a small piece of metal on your wrist.

and the beauty of certain watchmakers versus others is how unnoticeable they are to untrained eyes. I don't feel like walking around with a Diver on my wrist garners attention from 98% of the people I come across on a daily basis. and a Panda? they probably assume it's an oversized Nixon or something from a far. I love that these watches can go under the radar to the uninitiated...or those who haven't caught the bug yet...haha

I have a question guys, just some cultural education, in the US and UK I've noticed that girls can throw Champagne or drinks in Guys faces when they are offended, can the same be done when a Girl offends a Guy? I mean its about equality right?

I would have put out the flame of hate she had for your friend with a drink in her face and later told people "I'm foreign so what do I know"

It's just in the movies that people do that.

Well, dont worry too much about what people said. what is more important is that we are happy. do what we love and love what we do.
