Looking for an online appraisal service

Hello Folks,

I decided to insure a watch or two with Jewelers Mutual and they require an appraisal certificate to perfect the policy. A sales receipt isn't accepted if the watch is >$5k value. So I'm trying to find a good (and acceptable for insurance) online site that I can get an appraisal from. I see a lot on Google searches, but I wonder which if any are actually reputable. Has anyone ever gotten an online appraisal? I may just have to go to a local jeweler or something..

I have not heard of one as I think they would want to see the watch. My AD gave me one when I purchased the watch. Just stop in downtown San Fran to service center, i am sure they can do one for you.

I just insured my Daytona through Jewelers Mutual using my receipt from Mayors as I haven't received my appraisal from Mayors yet. Call them and speak to an agent. That's what I did.

I bought the watch on TRF so there isn't an AD receipt. I did find a place online, that will provide the necessary certification for $50. Seems legit. I might give them a try.

How are they appraising it without seeing the watch?

Its this company. http://www.nugentappraisal.com/

They asked for photos and copies of any other correspondance I have when I purchased it. Then if needed they will request other more detailed photos of certain areas of the watch.

They said their certified appraisal report meets insurance company requirements...

Seems legit.

Try it, all you can lose is 50 bucks.
