Which is the largest "vintage" Rolex ??

Hi I have looked for a "older" Rolex before
But have never found one that looks right
Since I have a large wrist any suggestions
Or what would be the largest Rolex that
suits a large wrist

Mid fifties if memory serves correctly. Submariner was 54 and GMT was 58 .
Models such as 6204 and6205 and then 6536' 5508 5510 for sub and 6452 for gmt and then 1675.

40's era Panerai were built by rolex and were 44mm if memory serves. Only problem is that they used radium in the dials, so unless you want to glow in the dark that is really not an option.

+1, you'll find a pic of that Rolex Panerai here, one of Ken's beauties, is 47mm, but I reckon almost impossible to find unless one really looks extremely hard

sea dweller 1665, 40mm but quite thick. Seriously, these big watch trend is ridiculous. A clock should sit on a desk, no on the wrist. Style aside, it get scratched a lot easier. Since it has a big case, it is easier to have any movement fits in it, thus easier to design a watch. It is very annoying with long sleeves... faster to tell time using a cell phone than a big watch in winter time.

Look like I am wearing a ladies watch I really like
The look of them and want one but can't find one
That looks right and am wondering how
Far can I go back (so far it looks like 60's) to get a
"Big"vintage watch

Have you tried a 40mm Rolex vintage yet? If you think 40mm still looks small then you might have to go for the current non vintage Rolexes like the Deepsea Seadweller:) or bigger vintages from other brands.

Get a vintage sub or a 1675 gmt. Both are 40mm and are great watches.

try the 1665 to see if you like it, its case is 40mm but with the bracelet on, it actually look bigger. Don't switch to a strap as it makes the watch look smaller. I think it is a very nice watch and its value will only go up in time at the current price level (the great white went down about 10% in the last 2 months, so it is like more than 40% off the high).

A vintage sub will never look girly to any wrist size. It is a tough tool watch. I cant say the same to those white gold surround marker watch of any size.

Sorry but a 40mm watch looks fine on any man. I think it's more of a mental thing you have going on. I truly doubt it looks like a ladies watch to anyone looking at you.

If you insist it looks too small, than perhaps Rolex is not your brand. There are some 46 or 47mm IWC vintage pilot watches I believe.

Back in the old day, rolex just dont make big wristwatches. unless it is a panerai, but then it has rolex movement only. The vintage daytona is not even 40mm and they managed to fit 3 subdials on it. Have you consider to refit a rolex pocket watch into a wrist watch? There are rolex pocket watch made in the 30's with diameter more than 40mm. Some people do that with Patek.
