That is awesome. I've been to a couple of BASE jump events (to watch) but that is some on the edge stuff right there. They are bored with BASE jumping! Thanks for the video.

Patrick de Gayardon was one of the pioneers that pushed wingsuit design and flying techiniques. He was the first person I've ever seen reenter an airplane he had just left. Unfortunately, he was killed testing one of his own designs. One fellow I know can cover about 5 miles with his wingsuit flying from an airplane at 14,000. On a good day you might make a mile in a vertical track without one.

It's pretty exciting to see these guys today who have developed the kind of skill that can enable them to skim a mountain side like that and make it look like as if anyone could do it if they just had the balls. Their physical control is unbelievable.

Check out Rocket bird-man down the list.

I think it's safe to say that makes every other X-treme sport look pretty tame in comparison. I can't imagine what, say 10 or 20 years experience will bring to the sport. By then the suits and equipment will probably allow much better distances at lower launch altitudes and who knows what else. Pretty exciting stuff...

That video was awesome!! Looks like they have a pretty high forward speed as they fly. Makes me wonder how they manage to land safely. Makes other extreme sports look like a quilting bee!

I was showing this video to my co-workers and we were discussing the same thing. Evel Kneivel was the coolest back in the 70's but now there are hundreds of guys on dirt-bikes jumping higher, farther and entertaining us with back-flips, tail whips and hand grabs at the same time. It makes you wonder where extreme sports are going and if they haven't hit the limit yet, where is the limit?
I hate to speculate that THIS is the limit but I thought street luge was pretty radical. This blows everything else away, for now.
