Does this one look right to you? The pics are pretty bad. How tough is it to take pictures that are in focus?

Seller is definitely not a photographer - nasty pics.

The watch, as claimed, was purchased on the Bay by a seller who happens to be a member of this forum. You can see the feedback on the purchase.

Ah, excellent. Thanks for pointing that out. Too bad about the pics though. I bet he could get more for it if the pics were better quality.

It does seem fishy... Why would you buy a Rolex in July, and then sell it 3 months later because...quote "the kids need braces." The watch does seem a little questionable... What if they bought the real Rolex from Brenner & Sons as stated, and are now in fact selling a fake Rolex, but using the fact they had bought a real one to throw people off? Just a theory, but those pictures are terrible, and two of them look like they were taking of a poster hanging on a wall....

Looks fake to me, the date magnification is also definitely not right.

Do not buy. Why did he upload those last two photos and include them with his? They are not even the same watch as he is selling.

I must be looking at a different auction than what others have posted here. My observations are that the auction is for a late 1970's GMT - and nothing in the photos indicate anything is counterfeit. The seller states the crystal is aftermarket, not unlike that found on thousands of Rolexes. Is the magnification correct - hard to tell from the photos so I would not be able to make a call whether the magnification on the crystal is incorrect, even though the seller stated it is aftermarket. From my experience, 99% of owners would not be able to identify an aftermarket crystal unless it has the wrong magnification.

The bezel insert and dial appear 100% genuine - circa late 1970's. While the seller did post a couple of poor photos, I see nothing to indicate the seller is trying to scam anyone. If you are a bidder, send him an email and get his name and verify he purchased the watch from Brenner and Sons, who sold him the watch. He provides way too much information to be scamming anyone. He has a 100% positive ebay feedback of 569.

The problem is that we only have 3 pictures to go by (the last 2 do not count and I am not sure why they are there). Out of the 3 pictures we cannot get any information from the first two so that leaves us to go on his word and one picture. It's a horrible sales pitch to provide just one shot and a better idea of whether it is genuine would really come from more shots and some more info from the seller. I would never take someone's word on one picture and just send them a few thousand in hopes of it being real.
