Service Already?

I have a question about the need for service on my datejust. The AD where I purchased it has a program where they give a free service anytime within the first two years. Is it worth the hastle of being without my watch (daily wearer)? What should I expect from the process?

Your Rolex is covered under warranty for the first 2 years and the recommended service time frame is around 5-7 years. Unless something is drastically wrong then there should be no need to get it serviced so soon.

An AD told you that?

They don't know much about their products then.

It's under warantee for the first 2 years and Rolex's don't need a service until 5-7 yrs from new.

Why not get the service at the end of the 2 year period, so that it is guaranteed to be perfect for next 2 years and beyond?

Exactly.....and doubt they would perform a true 'service' of the watch!
Most likely a pressure test and polish at most, would be more likely IMO!

This is very interesting.. A free service anytime within the first two years begs the question; "What is the definition of their service?"

It seems absurd to actually "service" a watch as we use the word to mean overhaul for no other reason than it is free. That, and it would conflict with Rolex initial 2 year warranty if it is a new watch..
