Not new but very good idea! some friends just did the same thing and my wife and I did as well. She also got a purse as the actual wedding gift. She got the ring a year before.

I joke about this all the time with my lady...Sometimes I think she's scheming to make it happen!!!
Congratulations on such an awesome timepiece and more importantly, a lifetime bond with your SO. Enjoy the good times!

I think in this post feminist modernist age the engagement present to each other should be a quarter or a fifth or whatever of your income for BOTH parties. A ring for her and a watch for you makes perfect sense. Only thing is Id want no surprises, Ill choose the watch.

Very nice, congrats on both fronts!
I wonder how many WIS women out there have taken a watch over a ring? Maybe with a serti dial? |

Very nice and best of luck in your journey together! We did the same type of exchange, but she didn't let me select the watch, which worked out since I love the explorer that she picked... It's meant a lot to me that she put in the research effort!

Congrats on the engagement and the watch.
Of course, when I got engaged over 45 years ago, there was no such thing as a mutual exchange of gifts. My then fiancee (now wife) got the ring and I got the bills (which keep coming in like clockwork).

Congrats!! I didn't get a Rolex when I got married but I was very happy that my wife was supportive of me getting a DJII when there was a pretty good offer (some cash rebate which sweeten the deal).
I would think that this sub would hold and witness the many wonderful moments you and ya wife is going to enjoy in the future! Once again, congrats (and to the watch too!) |
