warranty question
When I send in a watch for warranty repair, who pay for the postage?
Will Rolex reimburse my cost? Will any AD in my area send it for me? Or I am on my own since I didn't buy it here? Thanks, |

You pay for shipping to RSC and they'll cover shipping back. I've heard some folks have argued shipping reimbursement/credit but I wouldn't bank on it.

Any AD can send it in for you, but you will have to pay for postage/insurance.

If you call RSC (at least NY) they will mail you a very nice and snug mailing kit (proper padding, etc.). You will need to use registered mail ...It'll run you about 30 bucks ... it's not a huge deal. They will pay for return mail.

Can I jump in here and ask if Rolex will accept the watch if the oyster bracelet is removed before shipping? I removed the bracelet on my Omega PO before shipping to Omega SC here in Australia. There was no need to send it and the OSC in Melbourne didn't say anything. The watch had stopped working under warranty and was fixed and returned to me and I reconnected the bracelet.

I can't see why it would be a problem, best to always call ahead and ask though.

Why take off the bracelet? While it isn't in need of repair, I'd let them evaluate it anyway as part of the hassle of sending it off.
