Of course it can and it does but it's the old needs and wants thing, above is tudor hydro on the job, just was toying with the idea since they brought out the sky dweller. Just another marketing angle I guess

Agreed the PVD could be the point of difference, maybe glow in the dark pvd, dark by day bright by night

In that rough working environment, PVD would scratch way too quickly. Gold might be a bit over the top in look and cost for most firemen. I'd say, this is a perfect situation for a brushed titanium case and bracelet with a tungsten or ceramic bezel. Maybe a red or yellow dial, or at least red writing on the dial. The bezel should include high lume markings with minute markings around at least 1/2 the dial if not the whole dial so the time in the SCBA can be easily seen.
