Back on topic, the 114060 is growing on me more and more. I always thought if I went for a no date sub I would go for the 14060M, but now I'm really not sure.

I guess if I already had a 14060M I'd be happy with that. If I didn't own a 14060M, I would probably go for the 114060.

I'm always flirting with one model or the other, but I always come back to the realization that my three Rolex watches cover a lot of the style territory of the last 50 years that I find them quite satisfying.

I do own a 14060M, which I managed to get just prior to their being discontinued, so that I have the new movement improvements in the classic case.

Had I missed that opportunity, I would certainly be tempted to go with the 114060, as I like it much more than I thought I would.

I'm closing in on the target amount for the new car and very soon, I will be in a position to consider a new watch, even if I decide to wait another year or two for the new car.

The money will be there and growing when I'm ready.

There is method to my madness.

I love my Rolex 114060, and it's my first Rolex. It has been quite a strange journey getting there, but I find it to be the perfect daily wearer, and it's the watch that I wear the most at the moment.

I had first contemplated getting a Rolex GMT IIC early last year, but ended up getting a Vacheron Constantin Overseas instead. Then, I contemplated getting the new Rolex Explorer II, but got the Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso Duo instead. But, when the 114060 got released, I finally pulled the trigger on my first Rolex.

The proportions actually looks better than the 116610 for some reason. Still I don't think I would choose this over a classic 14060 if I had the chance. There was a time when Rolex had both the GMT and GMT2 in production, I wish they sometimes would keep their classic watches.

I'm quite sure of it myself. My old tritium 14060 2 liner is different enough from this one that I already have the perfect rationale. Besides, I bet it is absolutely killer on a NATO.

ADs are dangerous for me as well. This would not be a proper TRF thread without a little enablement.

A great looking watch. I just can't get past not having the date. I look at it all the time and the watch would not be the same without it in my opinion. Love the look though

So strange, not a few days ago I posted how much I prefer the date version and can't see a use for a no date watch in my life. It did nothing for me.
I clicked this thread simply because I love pictures, but I guess the moon and stars were aligned because now I see this watch differently. I have an obsession with symmetry in things and staring at this dial I see the simple, yet even lines of the entire watch.
It looks perfect.
I still like to have a date but there's a certain carefree magic about no date, for example, going on a vacation and disconnecting a little from "counting" down days, just enjoying the present.
Thanks for this post. I guess now I need to reevaluate my purchase plan.
