Found another strap with a pin broken where the bracelet attaches to the clasp. This was perhaps the original one and he retired it because broken. This one seems less well made with rivets sticking out of the side and does not say Rolex anywhere, just Stainless Steel on the inside with two prominent horizontal bars. Plain on the front.
Sorry about that, I will have to look around the net, see if I can figure it out.

Possibly aftermarket?
